All literay, all talented, and all dying young--the story of the three Bronte sisters, i.e. Charlotte (1816-1855), Emily(1818-1848), and Anne(1810-1849), is one of the saddest pages in the history of English literature as well as the world literature. They enjoy readers from around the world. It is safe to say that the three have their own forever artistic and personal merits and charm in every reader’s heart.

    Their family story is more than miserable and depressing. They were daughters of a poor clergyman in the little village of Haworth, Yorkshire in Northern England. Their mother died when they were in their childhood, leaving five girls and one boy. The two eldest sisters died young in a charity school. First and last they did not get much shool education from the beginning.

    Nevertheless, it could not prevent them showing their talents in literature to the world. In 1847 “Jane Eyre” from Charlotte was published, bringing her fame and mony and placing her at the forefront of the English realistic literature. Just in the same year, almost hand in hand, Emily published her only novel “Wuthering Heights”. Meanwhile, two novels of Anne appeared. Their novels brought a new cool and fresh breeze, if not the storm, to the British literature and the readers at the time. Undoutedly “Jane eyre” and “Wuthering Heights” are the best two from the Chorotte sisters.

    The way life treated the three sisters was in all honesty cruel. Emily died in the year 1848 following her publishing the “Wuthering Heights”, and in the same year their brother also died. Their youngest and gentlest sister Anne followed her elder sister to the grave in 1849. Besides, both Emily and Anne died unmarried. In 1854 Charlotte got married. But unfortunately, she died less than a year later.

    As time goes by, the fame and popularity of the Bronte sisters raise and raise again. They will live in the heart of every reader loyal to them, ever and forever.
